Sean's background in mechanical engineering provides the foundation for his research and analysis projects at the Energy Center. Recently, he has been applying his talents to assessing the opportunities for growing Wisconsin's bioeconomy. Sean led a multi-client team to assess biorefining opportunities in Wisconsin for state agencies and the Governor's Consortium on Biobased Industry, and co-wrote and edited a catalog of the biological resources, conversion technologies and products available to the state's industries (wisbiorefine.org). Sean has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
