Since 1997, we've aggregated statewide trends in equipment sales; distributors providing data to the study represent between 65 and 75 percent of the market in Wisconsin. 12.05.11 | New construction case study: Adler School (PDF) Through our work with ComEd's New Construction Service, the Energy Center consulted with the building design team for the Adler School of Professional Psychology facility expansion project in Chicago, IL. Reducing the lighting power density of the new space resulted in both electric and natural gas savings, due to a reduction in peak cooling and heating needs for the building. This award recognizes our efforts to transform the environmental practices of the meeting and events industry in Wisconsin. 12.15.10 | Design decisions through energy, economics and emissions analysis Our buildings team completed an energy analysis of a major pool addition at RecPlex, the largest municipal recreation facility in the country in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. Recommendations included an innovative lake-sourced geothermal heat pump, aggressive energy recovery, and a high performance cold-climate envelope. The second edition of the Wisconsin Agricultural Biogas Casebook provides brief case studies of 21 farms with operating anaerobic digester systems in Wisconsin as of fall 2009. The casebook offers insights into how these systems are working and shares comments from system owners. 12.14.09 | Energy Center helps Indiana set strong energy efficiency goals The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission relied in part on the Energy Center as its independent technical consultant to establish a strong policy and program framework for achieving greater energy efficiency. The goals it established are similar to policies adopted by the Wisconsin Governor's Global Warming Task Force for legislative consideration. Indiana, Illinois and Ohio now lead the Midwest in energy efficiency targets. 11.17.09 | New research on in-home energy savings presented at Behavior Change Conference At the Behavior, Energy and Climate Change Conference in Washington D.C., Energy Center researchers Scott Pigg and Ingo Bensch presented preliminary findings from a field study that points to untapped opportunities for residential energy savings. Funded by the Minnesota Department of Commerce, the study addresses high energy uses and household interest in saving energy. Final results will be published in January. 10.12.09 | Geothermal Study Finds Savings in Costs and Emissions A 2009 study of the economic and emissions savings of geothermal heat pumps shows significant cost savings in commercial applications and longer-term savings in residential applications. The study took updated information on costs, technology and incentive factors into account in assessing Wisconsin's geothermal market. The Energy Center's 2009 study was funded by Alliant Energy. 09.17.09 | A Review and Analysis of Existing Studies of the Energy Efficiency Resource Potential in the Midwest Have recent studies of energy efficiency potential in the Midwest underestimated our efficiency resource? The Energy Center and the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy review the results from energy efficiency potential studies conducted in the Midwest since 2001 and analyze them against our changing energy policy landscape. 08.05.09 | PSC releases new findings on energy efficiency potential from Energy Center study A final report by the Energy Center, commissioned by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, has been released showing that substantial net cost energy savings are achievable by 2012. 06.05.09 | Energy Center Launches New Service for ComEd Customers in Northern Illinois The Energy Center of Wisconsin has been selected by ComEd of Chicago to design and administer its Smart Ideas for Your Business new construction design service.
