ComEd's Smart Ideas for Your Business
The Energy Center was selected by ComEd of Chicago to design and administer its new construction design service. The service aims to improve standard building practices to make commercial buildings more energy efficient. more...

The Energy Center has offered a similar service for Focus on Energy and customers of Wisconsin-based utilities We Energies and WPPI Energy. In the last year, this service improved the energy efficiency in 3.6 million square feet of new construction and generated electricity savings of 6.7 million kWh and 231,000 therms of natural gas.

Focus on Energy New Construction Program
The Energy Center has worked closely with Focus on Energy to administer technical assistance for this program, focused on many different building types. Technical assistance has included energy modeling to improve architectural and engineering design decisions, review of plans and specs, and assistance with energy incentives, all with the goal of significantly reducing energy consumption in new buildings. more...

WPPI Energy New Construction Program
The Energy Center has designed and is currently implementing a technical assistance program for WPPI Energy; this program provides assistance for municipal electric customers throughout Wisconsin. Projects to date include multifamily (residential care), educational, office and specialty (ice arena). The Energy Center has worked with 48 projects over the past two years.

We Energies New Construction Program
Technical assistance has been provided on dozens of new construction and major renovation projects to improve energy efficiency and overall building performance. Duties also included program administration, including administering project funding and selecting relevant projects. more...
