Michael Anschel is the co-owner of Verified Green, Inc. a consulting and training firm helping building related companies incorporate green strategies in their business. He is also the founder and principal of Otogawa-Anschel Design Build, LLC, which was awarded the first Minnesota COTY (Contractor of the Year) award through NARI and the and the first national green remodeling Chrysalis award. Michael led the Green Remodeling Group in the design of the MN GreenStar Certification for Green Homes and Remodeling program. He serves as a board member for MN GreenStar.

Ingo Bensch is a researcher at the Energy Center of Wisconsin. He uses market research and program evaluation to support energy efficiency programs in all sectors. Ingo's passion is studying how education, training, and information influence behavior and, ultimately, energy usage. He has 15 years of research experience and holds degrees from Indiana University (graduate) and Stanford University (undergraduate).

Fred BergFred Berg, retired President of American BOA
Fred Berg is recently retired as President of American BOA, an engineering/manufacturing company located in Georgia. His work experience also includes airplane development with the Boeing Company and gas-turbine powered combined cycle power plants with ABB. Fred graduated from Grinnell College with a bachelor's degree in Physics. He also earned a masters degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.

Jay Bowen has been involved in the electrical and building trades since 1977. He is currently a project manager for a national building maintenance and thermography program and is a level 3 certified thermographer. Jay holds a Wisconsin Masters Electrician Certificate, Wisconsin Commercial Electrical Inspector Certification, and a State Electrical Systems Designer's License. He has been using infrared thermography as a condition monitoring tool since the mid-90s. Jay developed and taught classes in thermography, motor control, power quality, instrumentation and PLC.

James Chambers has designed passive solar homes, some with hybrid thermal mass systems, as well as super insulated, earth sheltered and geothermal residences. He co-developed a computer program for analyzing energy performance for passive solar homes. James has two decades of production and custom residential design experience in the suburban Milwaukee and Chicago markets. He is currently developing luxury green spec home for the North Shore Suburban Chicago market.

Gord Cooke is an effective and passionate educator and advocate for better building practices, improved indoor air quality and energy efficiency. Gord brings to his training the logic and integrity of a professional engineer and the passion of one committed to helping the residential construction industry build and sell better homes. His strong technical and mechanical background has contributed to the development of innovative HVAC system designs and indoor air quality solutions for many builder clients. Carter Dedolph is the Senior Program Manager for the Single Family Homes Program at WECC. He manages Focus on Energy's Home Performance with ENERGY STAR for existing homes and Wisconsin ENERGY STAR Homes for new construction, as well as three pilot programs. Previously, Carter was the Program Manager for Focus on Energy's Apartment and Condo Efficiency Services program. He has published several papers in refereed journals on topics in construction management and building materials, and managed a university research laboratory in northern Manitoba investigating the effect of climate change on boreal forests of northern Canada.

Ada Duffey has been the president of Milwaukee Lead/Asbestos Information Center, Inc. for the past 13 years. She has been involved in lead paint and asbestos abatement work since 1990. Milwaukee Lead / Asbestos Information Center, Inc. conducts over 95% of the lead paint training offered in Wisconsin. It was first in the nation to receive EPA approval of their lead paint courses in 1997. Ada has conducted over 1200 pre-demolition asbestos inspections.

Jeremy Faludi is a sustainable design strategist and researcher. He teaches green design at Stanford University and also designs modular green building systems at Project FROG. He has worked for Rocky Mountain Institute, The Biomimicry Institute, and the Lawrence Berkeley National Labs, among others. In addition to his design work, he writes for Worldchanging.com and is one of the many authors of Worldchanging: A User's Guide for the 21st Century.

Henri Fennell is an architect and building envelope specialist with over thirty years of experience in energy conservation design, products and services. He was a pioneer in the solar industry, developing and installing the first integrated non-tracking parabolic solar collector building panel system in 1975. Henri has been involved in the design and construction of what is now called micro-load buildings since the early 1980s. After 35 years in the industry, he provides consulting and training to other members of the construction and foam industries.

Randy Fenske is a Senior Certified Tyvek® Specialist with Wausau Supply Company. He is also very involved with hands-on job site training sessions with builders and installers throughout western Wisconsin.

Edward J. Hopkins is the Assistant Wisconsin State Climatologist and a weather education consultant for the American Meteorological Society's Education Program. He has a PhD in meteorology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has at least 30 years of experience teaching introductory meteorology courses. He has co-authored a book entitled Wisconsin's Weather and Climate (University of Wisconsin Press) with Prof. Joseph M. Moran of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

German Architect Katrin Klingenberg is co-founder of the Passive House Institute US, short PHIUS, located in Urbana Illinois. For PHIUS, she provides Passive House consulting, training and certification US-wide. Katrin develops design guidelines for the implementation of the Passive House standard for various climate zones in North America and has taught Building Science and Design Studios at the University of Illinois in Chicago and at Urbana-Champaign. She has presented on the passive house topic at national conferences as well as abroad. Tex McLeod has over 30 years experience in housing and energy conservation. He is one of North America's leading presenters on energy, housing and indoor air quality. Tex was also part of the original team that put together the IAQ materials for CMHC and US EPA. Tom Niesen has experience in residential and commercial HVAC and commercial and industrial refrigeration. Currently Tom is the Division Chair of Manufacturing for Gateway Technical College and its HVACR lead. Under a federal NSF grant, Tom is writing curriculum for GeoExchange. He is working with the DNR on Code requirements for geothermal drilling within Wisconsin and is directing Gateway's Geothermal drilling program, the first one of its kind in the United States.

Laura V. Page is a business and organization consultant based in Madison who focuses on areas of strategic planning, interpersonal communication, leadership development, conflict resolution and team building. She is a frequent public speaker, seminar instructor and retreat facilitator. Laura was the manager of business counseling for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Small Business Development Center and a management consultant with Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young), in Chicago. Scott Pigg is a senior project manager at the Energy Center of Wisconsin. Scott has 18 years of hands-on experience researching energy use in Wisconsin homes. He has initiated and conducted major studies combining energy use characteristics of Wisconsin housing with data on attitudes and behavior of homeowners, tenants, and landlords.

Edward Pollock, U.S. Department of Energy
Edward Pollock has been around construction for over 67 years. In the 1980's he managed the Solar Data Network Program for the Department of Energy, which measured and evaluated the performance of active and passive building solar systems. Using the knowledge gained from this program he helped friends and family design and build a number of homes ranging from sun-tempered to underground and super-insulated passive designs that approached net zero energy. During this same period he was one of the organizers of the Montgomery, Maryland chapter of Habitat for Humanity and served as the chair of their building committee. He also served as president of Damascus Energy Savers, a community action group in Damascus, MD. Currently, Mr. Pollock is the team leader of the Residential Buildings Research Team in the Office of Building Technologies.

Clay Sterling has been working for the Midwest Renewable Energy Association since 1999. During that time, he has worked closely with the stakeholders in the organization to develop and market a training program that has grown from just under 200 students per year to serving over 3,000 students each year. Clay has a construction background gained from working in his family's plumbing shop and also working 9 years as a commercial electrician on large construction projects. Clay maintains three of the MREA's wind turbines and one at home. He has lived in an off-grid PV powered home for 10 years.

Eric Sundquist is a COWS senior associate and a policy analyst. He works on sustainable energy policy, with a focus on transportation and building energy efficiency. He served on the transportation working group of the Wisconsin Global Warming Task Force, and on the Madison Plan Commission. In addition, Eric leads the transportation working group of the regional clean-energy coalition RE-AMP.

Larry Taff has been involved in the home building, remodeling and real estate business for over 40 years. He started out with his father's company and formed his own company, TZ of Madison, Inc., in 1992. The company's specialty is residential remodeling and one of their niches is working with people with special needs. He one of seven contractors that is participating on a panel that is developing a Universal Remodeling certification program for NARI.

Jesse Taff has been working with the family owned business for over ten years. In 2008 he was project manager on a kitchen remodel for TZ of Madison and won a Local and Regional NARI Contractor of the Year award in the category of Universal Design. He has presented many Aging in Place seminars since earning his certification in 2007.

Jaime Torres Carmona is a registered architect living and practicing in Chicago. Currently, Jaime is serving as the 2009 Clyde Lee and Jane Cecilia Baker Traveling Fellow, an award granted through the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is studying successful examples of building envelope solutions in Germany, one of the world's leaders in sustainable design. Through this study, Jaime aims to further enhance the US Midwest knowledge base of sustainability through the building envelope for years to come.

He has worked for 24 years in energy efficiency and education with customers in Alliant Energy's Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa service territories.

Sara Van de Grift is the Director of Residential programs for the award winning Focus on Energy program in Wisconsin, a program she has worked on since its inception in 2001. Previously, Sara served as program manager for the ENERGY STAR Products Program and Efficient Heating & Cooling Initiative working to develop successful program models for both state and utility clients. She has been a member of the Program for the Evaluation and Analysis of Residential Lighting (PEARL) and is currently serving as the Vice Chair of Topic Committees as a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Energy Service Professionals.

John Viner currently manages training and educational opportunities in Wisconsin and surrounding states for The Energy Center of Wisconsin. Over the last 10 years John has provided program support services for Wisconsin's Home Performance with Energy Star program including RESNET certification training for the rating industry. John also established a building performance consulting firm that has completed more than 600 home performance assessments in less than three years and worked with more than three dozen independent residential trade contractors.
