Your utility will require you to apply for an interconnection contract before you hook your system up to the grid. This is a formality so that the utility knows where these systems are. The application is a simple form, but it does require information about the size of the wind turbine you plan to install, and the electrical specifications of the system. You can get this information from either your wind dealer or the equipment manufacturer. In addition, the utility will require that you provide a certificate of insurance indicating that you have sufficient liability insurance.
