Grants and Incentives for Solar Energy Systems Located in Wisconsin
Introduction
Many incentives are available to photovoltaic (PV) and solar hot water (SHW)
system owners. Receiving these benefits will improve the economic viability of
a solar energy system. There are two dominant reasons why solar systems—and
other renewable energy technologies—are supported by grants and incentives. First,
these incentives encourage corporations and consumers to invest in and purchase PV
systems. Second, they "level the playing field" between PV systems and fossil fuel
energy systems, which have many, less direct governmental subsidies.
